6 days trip to Melbourne. It's really a short stay but managed to explore most of it's attractions.

There's so much to see and do across Melbourne. It seem a daunting task to squeeze and sort our itineraries as well as making sure everything is within our budget. After a few times of survey and google-ing, we managed to make a full 4 days itinerary includes experiencing the snow! Let's take a look on the itinerary (you can click and get more info on the words that appear in green color).

Day 1: Explore the City
  • Hosier Lane
  • St. Paul Cathedral
  • Federation Square
  • Flinders Street Station
  • Bourke Street (for shopping)
  • Queen Victoria Market (shop souvenirs)
  • St. Kilda
Should add this but we had no extra time to take a tour:
  • St. Kilda Esplande market (every Sunday)
  • Shrine of Rememberance
  • Eureka Skydeck 88 (offers great views of the entire city)

Day 2: Trip to Great Ocean Road
  • The Twelve Apostles
  • Loch Ard Gorge
  • London Arch
  • The Grotto
  • The Arch

Day 3: Just outside Melbourne

Day 4: Catching the Snow

Info/Comment
  • We took one day each flight time hence total time travel were 6 days.
  • We slept at Melbourne airport for one night.
  • I do really wish we have more time to explore the city, and take more street photos!
  • Stayed at Greenhouse backpackers and highly recommend it.
  • We calculated our fuels budget beforehand using this websites, Fuel Calculator.
  • 4 days wasn't enough though. Must extend your visit if possible!
  • It was almost the end of autumn season but we want to experience the winter too hence we drove 4 hours away from Melbourne to Mt. Buller just to tuck in ourselves in the winter wonderland!

Budget
  • Return flight tickets Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne - RM750
  • Return flight tickets Penang to Kuala Lumpur - RM210
  • AXA Insurance - RM40
  • Room for 4 nights at Greenhouse backpackers - RM285
  • Other Expenses (fuels, food, fee entrance, souvenirs etc) - RM1000
